Join us for a date with Tate next week!

Back in June – Tate invited Flickr members to submit their photos on the theme of urban portraits to complement their Street and Studio: An Urban History of Photography exhibition.

There were an impressive 3,104 submissions to the Street or Studio group. The 3 judges – Juergen Teller, artist whose work was included in the exhibition; Ute Eskildsen, curator of Street and Studio: An Urban History of Photography and Heather Champ: photographer and member of the Flickr team – were then tasked to select just 100 of those photos to feature in a photobook.

I’m pleased to say that they rose to the challenge and the result is this rather glorious book – Street or Studio: A Photobook published by Blurb!

There will be a little get-together with members of the Flickr, Tate and Blurb teams and the Flickr members whose photographs appear in the book, during Late at Tate at Tate Britain on November 7th. The photos from the book will be projected on the walls of the Duveen Galleries and the copies of the book will be on display for your viewing pleasure (there’s also lots of other interesting stuff going at Tate Britain that evening, check out their website for more details).

Everyone is most welcome, more info on Upcoming.
