Don’t fret, despite the “p” word, this post is totally SFW!
While other groups may come down on either side of the film or digital divide, Camera Porn Friday takes all comers as members share photos of their beloved gear. Speaking from personal experience, the only downside with participating may come from drooling on your keyboard if you covet your neighbour’s equipment.

The Philippines hosts many cultural events throughout the country, and recently was the Aliwan Fiesta, held in Pasay City, part of metro Manila. Aliwan invites teams from regions all around the country to send their best to represent their own provincial festivals in one big competition. Street dance and parades in the Philippines are incredibly colorful affairs, and showcase the exuberance of the people.

Public Transportation in LA might sound like a contradiction, but for over 25 years LA has been building a system which looks like it is coming into its own. See images of the public transit lifestyle of Angelinos in the MetroRiderLA group. Also, the Metro Library and Archive’s Photostream has fascinating images of the historic and emerging transit lines of Los Angeles.

A tapir (pronounced /ˈteɪpər/ “taper”, or /təˈpɪər/ “ta-pier”) is a large browsing mammal, roughly pig-like in shape, with a short, prehensile snout. Tapirs inhabit jungle and forest regions of South America, Central America, and Southeast Asia. There are four species of Tapirs: the Brazilian tapir, the Malayan tapir, Baird’s tapir and the Mountain tapir. All four species of tapir are classified as endangered or vulnerable. Their closest relatives are the other odd-toed ungulates, including horses and rhinoceroses. — Tapir, Wikipedia
If you’re into tapirs, today is your day!

The good people over at MagCloud have launched “Upload from Flickr” which enables our members to easily make magazines from their Flickr sets.
Once you authenticate against your account, you can access a set and MagCloud does the rest, skipping the tortuous design program part.* Woot! I’ve made a couple of magazines and it really is that easy.
Check out their blog for the “Upload from Flickr” announcement. Oh, and enter the coupon code “FLICKRFRIEND” when you check out to receive 25% off any copies you purchase between now and 31 August 2010. Feel free to share this coupon code with one and all.

* Designers, I love you — no hate mail, please.
(Disclosure: My husband is a consultant at MagCloud. There was no promise of dinner or those Kate Spade pumps I’ve had my eye on for writing this post.)
