We’ve raised the video filesize limit for our Pro members to 500MB (from 150).
When we were working on adding HD to Flickr a few months back we were testing with one of those really little cute HD video cameras. The (90 seconds or less) files that came out of it were so cute and small that 150 MB seemed like more than enough.
But then we launched, and heard back from our members that their cameras were not quite as small-minded. And we got some HD cameras. 150 MB was not enough.

Every year going back to 2004, Flickr member lucycat has documented the progress of egg laying and hatching of Eastern Bluebirds in some nest boxes, and it looks like the season is underway! Be sure to check out past year’s captures in her Bluebird Nestboxes collection too.
If you are looking for a way to improve your photography, having a project is a great way to do it. A random theme can push you out of your comfort zone and inspire new ideas. Some of the most fun I had taking pictures last year was experimenting and trying things out for a small weekly theme group I’m in. It looks like lots of other photographers tried something new because of groups they are in as well.
So if you’re looking for something new and up for a challenge, check out some of the weekly and monthly theme groups. Or start one yourself with a few pals!

“On the night of April 14, 1912, on her maiden voyage, the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg; it sank less than three hours later, in the wee hours of the 15th of April. 1,517 people perished in the icy North Atlantic waters. Just after 4 a.m., the RMS Carpathia arrived to pick up the 706 survivors from the lifeboats.” April 15, 1912: The Titanic, indicommons
