Last year, a paragliding demonstration in Peru during Inkafest helped popularize the sport there. This year, a group of hardcore paragliders will be flying through the Andes in the XAndes race to promote awareness of the equatorial glaciers. The race begins on August 24th, 2010 and will conclude during this year’s Inkafest. The athletes will climb and paraglide a course over 500 kilometers long from Huaraz to Cuzco. During the race they will be collecting photos from their adventures in the XAndes group.
