The Archivo Histórico General del Estado de Sinaloa was founded in the northwestern state of Sinaloa in México to gather and keep records related to the history of the state and region.
The archive’s collection reaches back to 1665 and contains an extensive number of documents, including maps, photographs, videos, and a small physical library with 7,000 volumes.
Founded in 1999, the Archivo Histórico de Sinaloa hosts one of the largest digital libraries in Mexico. Its staff is working to digitize the entire collection of images with the goal of making it available to anyone interested. They want to help spread the history of the state of Sinaloa and put its documents to good use, whether for academic or personal purposes.
