In a comment on one of his photos, Eric Snowdeal paraphrases a bit from David Weinberger’s essay The Hyperlinked Metaphysics of the Web:
In our culture, we’re suspicious of strangers. They’re a threat. They lurk in shadows. On the Web, however, strangers are the source of everything worthwhile. Strangers and their utterances [and photographs] are the stuff of the Web.
I was thinking of this today, as I was looking through my favorites. I look at them almost every time I visit Flickr, and I never get tired of them. And it occurred to me — all but three of the photos are from people that I’ve never met. Here are some of the photos:
