From now till Dec 6th, Creative Commons is running a competition on Flickr. The CC Swag Photo Contest will help raise awareness for Creative Commons, a non-profit we’re proud to support. Creative Commons (or "CC") offers an alternative to full copyright in order to promote free culture. Details on the contest page, their blog and the Flickr group.

And since we’re on the topic, remember that you can browse and search CC photos on Flickr by license (over 22,000,000 CC photos). Crazy! A recent article by Mark Glaser on PBS’s MediaShift gives a great overview of why CC is so cool and why Flickr and CC work so well together. (I also found Photo K12, a CC-ified resource for photography in education.)
