A contribution from Sarah Ann Loreth
We have successfully navigated our way through the wilds of Yostemite and down through southern California to Los Angeles! The photography community that exists because of Flickr has been such an instrumental part of our trip, introducing us to new friends and building existing friendships with fellow photographers. One of these photographers is Carolyn Hampton who hosted us for our entire stay in L.A. and was the perfect host!
Our workshop in Los Angeles was an excellent (and hot!) day of inspiring photography and fun. We spent the day with eight fellow photographers inside Los Angeles at Griffith Park and the afternoon inside the Old Los Angeles Zoo. The old caves and zoo features were the perfect location for photographs and a break in the heat.
The particpants spent the entire afternoon shooting, and one of our busiest photographer was also the youngest at our workshops, 14 year old Josh who inspired everyone with his passion and energy for creating.
After a fun filled day, the Wild Ones set off to spend a few more days exploring the “urban” side of things before heading east toward Zion National Park, Monument Valley and Mesa Verde.
There are still a few spots left in our upcoming workshops:
Dallas – August 5th, Tampa – August 12th
, Atlanta – August 16th (meetup, not a workshop!)
Washington DC – August 19th
, New York City – August 24th
To reserve a spot at a workshop please email us at thewildones@rocketmail.com.
