We’ve long been fans of Upcoming, the social events calendar – we use it all the time for ambient invites and RSVPing – when they added a groups feature a little while ago, it didn’t take long for the Flickr group to become the biggest.

Well now they are our corporate kin and we’re squealing with joy (seriously – the people in the cubes next to us *hate* us). Yahoo acquired Upcoming.org and they’re coming to work with us – there are all kinds of cool things that will happen, but at least one will be some kind of good photos-from-events thing. We’ll figure it out :)

(By the way, for those of you in San Francisco, here’s a good upcoming event and photo opportunity – the de Young museum is reopening on the 15th and staying open overnight. That will be fun. And lo – a group show of the photographic works of several Flickr users – aqui-ali, get your show listed up there and tag it with ‘flickr‘ ;)
