The extreme cold this winter in Wisconsin has created spectacular ice formations at Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. The destination usually requires a boatride to reach, but Lake Superior’s frozen state has made it accessible by foot for visitors. The last time weather conditions permitted such access was in 2009.
