Our dearest Flickr,
It’s hard to believe how much you’ve grown! As we mark another year on the calendar and another spurt on your growth chart, we marvel at what you’ve become.
Not so long ago you were an infant ushering in Web 2.0 with all your fantastic user-generated content. Then you were tagging and starting groups and writing Notes and raising hell in the Help Forum—what a munchkin you used to be! Can you believe you’re almost a teenager? Just think, pretty soon you’ll be driving. Look out, Internet!
You know these adolescent years can be intense. You’ll experience many challenges as you develop physically, emotionally, and socially. It’s completely normal, we’ve all been through it. If you stumble and lose your way, we’ll be here to help you get back on track. In fact, there are 115 million of us around the world, so someone will be awake any hour of the day if you need to call on us.
Sure, you throw us curveballs, and you sometimes drive us crazy (seriously, if we find that damn pet bear of yours getting in the way of site stability, we might scream!), but you always find a way back into our hearts.
We hope you’ll forgive us if we sound a bit cliché, but there’s never been anyone quite like you and we’re excited to see what the next chapter brings!
We love you,
The Community
