ANZAC was the name given to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps
soldiers who landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey early on the
morning of 25 April 1915 during the First World War (1914-1918).

It is tradition to play a commemorative footy match on ANZAC Day. It appears that this year the Bloods took out the Magpies. (Thanks for the update, mike lowe.)

The other thing Aussies do on Anzac Day is gamble in the streets. We play a game called Two Up:  someone called a "tosser" throws two coins up in the air, and the punters bet on how they’ll fall. Oh, and you need to drink beer. (Thanks to Fifila for a great Two Up set.)
