If you’ve logged into Flickr with any frequency, you’ve experienced the world of Lomokev on our home page. I think it’s fair to say that Kevin Meredith had single handedly spread the love of the Lomo LC-A throughout the Flickrverse with his fabulous, vibrant photographs.
Kevin, describe yourself in three words.
Obsessed, unorganized & lighthearted.
What one place, person or thing would you run off to photograph if you found the Golden Ticket?
If you asked me a year ago I would of said the Burning Man because I only wanted to go to that for 12 years so that was like a real pilgrimage for me. I have to go back!
But now it would have to be the Kumbh Mela festival in India where millions of Hindu pilgrimages bath in the river Ganges, its the largest human gathering on the planet. I just did a search on Flickr and there are only 12 photos tagged with Kumbh Mela. Lets all go!
What’s your "desert island" camera?
Nikonos V because sand and water wouldn’t damage it on the desert island. I think in the last 10 years of taking pictures, I have had sand/dust damage on cameras to the point of $1,800.
What inspires you?
Seemingly ordinary.
What’s the photograph that got away?
Too many to mention because I am always looking to take shots all the
time I tend to miss a lot
Bonus question: Kitten, baby, sunset or flower?
Is the Kitten on fire?
The Flickreenos would like to assure you that no kittens were harmed in the making of this interview. Tomorrow we’ll share our interview with Catherine Jamieson. If you’re in the New York area on August 2nd, we hope that you can join us for The Blink of an Eye.
