Blue Moon

Last Friday night, we had the opportunity to experience a “blue moon.” That is the name given to the second full moon during a calendar month, a phenomenon that happens every two to three years, and that won’t repeat again until January 2018. If you missed the beautiful, illuminated sky on July 31st, you have a chance to see it now through the great photos of Flickr users.

The last blue moon until 2018 rises above Mary's Lake, where a crew camped out during a hitch in Manti-LaSal National Forest.
