Starting the new year off right.
We’re kicking off the new year with a quick recap of what Flickr has been up to over the last month and what’s on the way! To get things started, first, let’s take a look back with MyFlickrYear.
MyFlickrYear
Have you checked out MyFlickrYear yet? It went live this week and is a great way to recap your Flickr journey over the past year. This custom annual report can be located through the Stats section on your Flickr site and also by clicking on one of the multiple banners you’ll see in both the website and mobile-site experience. You’ll have the opportunity to share the report of your Flickr milestones on your Flickr Photostream and on your social media accounts so make sure to show off your results to your friends!
iOS mobile app update: Slow-motion video support added!
The Flickr iOS mobile app received an upgrade and now supports slow-motion video uploading. If you’re looking to add your own slow-motion videos from your iOS device to your Flickr site, make sure to update your iOS mobile app to have access to this new improvement.
Flickr Commons is turning 16!
Next week, we’re celebrating 16 years of Flickr Commons. Flickr Commons is one of the world’s largest collections of unique historical photography. This program partners with over 100 cultural institutions in 24 countries around the world. Check back in to the Flickr blog on January 16th for some Flickr Commons birthday fun!

NASA’s 100 Best Photos of 2023
Our friends at NASA curated an album of images that will help walk you through their year. From pictures documenting rocket launches and space exploration to snapshots of strategy and policy meetings, you can find NASA’s top 100 images of 2023, right here on Flickr. Check it out!

LoC Mystery Album
The Library of Congress has put out a call to the public for assistance in identifying the stories behind a selection of uncaptioned images from their archives. Some of these images are conveniently stored right here on Flickr, in the Library’s ‘Mystery Photos Album’.
If you’re good at sleuthing and like a challenge, make sure to take a look through the album. Any photos marked as ‘NO CAPTION’ can use your detective skills. If you have any information on anything depicted in those mystery images, you’re invited to add your information as a comment on that image. YBS Contest Winners Announcement to Come
Finally, our most popular contest of the year, Your Best Shot, just wrapped up and our judges are deliberating. Stay tuned for information about when our YBS Winner’s Announcement live stream will be happening. In the meantime, you can take a look through the amazing submissions we received in the official Your Best Shot photo pool and pick out some of your own favorites.
