In the spirit of Black History Month, Awesome, Inc’s staff focused on celebrating the culture, traditions, photography, and stories of the Black community throughout the month of February. Together with our fellow staffers, we curated galleries that celebrate Black culture and traditions, shared our members’ stories and photography, and highlighted the achievements and contributions made to society from people of the African diaspora.
We hope you’ll take some time to explore these galleries that celebrate the diverse nuances within the Black community, including the creativity surrounding Black hair, Black love, Black art and Black joy!
If there’s a theme, tradition, or community in Black history and culture that you’re proud to be part of, we hope that you’ll share it on Flickr. In the meantime, we invite you to read the stories of Flickr members that are sharing their photography and documenting Black history and culture in the making.
