The time honored tradition of celebrating instant film bi-annually, known as ‘RoidWeek kicks off on April 23rd. It’s a great time to join the official ‘Roidweek 2023 Flickr group to take part in the fun. Flickr has been a gathering place for instant film enthusiasts for this celebration since 2006.
‘RoidWeek is a community-run event in which Flickr ‘RoidWeek group members spend the week working with instant film, in all of its forms, and sharing their favorite shots. This is not Polaroid specific, despite the name, so other forms of instant film are also accepted and encouraged.
If you’d like to see what Polaroid week is all about, you are invited to join the ‘RoidWeek2023 group today! The official start date for uploading submissions to the group photo pool is April 23rd and will run through April 28th. Now is a great time to join the group, read through the rules, ready any instant camera gear you might need to have on hand and start snapping pics to share next week.
A few important rules to highlight
- Only post photos that are new to Flickr
- Upload 2 photos maximum to the group pool per day
- The images have to be some form of instant film, and they request that no digital photos edited to mimic the look of instant film aka Faux-laroids be submitted
The full set of rules are listed in the Flickr ‘RoidWeek2023 group. We hope you will consider joining in on this spring’s ‘RoidWeek festivities and get to know this amazing instant film Flickr community a little better.
To give you all a little inspiration of what is to come, we are sharing some past ‘RoidWeek favorites, we hope this year you will add your own to the mix!
