This year, Flickr marks a significant milestone – 20 years of providing photographers around the world a place to share, inspire, and connect with one another.
As we celebrate two decades of connecting people across the globe through the power of photography, we invite you to pick up your camera and join us at Photoville, New York City’s premier photo festival! Get ready for a series of exciting events and free public programming, including creative and professional development workshops, family-friendly activities, a series of photowalks, and a happy hour event hosted by yours truly. Flickr happy hour
We’ll be kicking off the Opening Weekend Community Celebration with a happy hour at Brooklyn Bridge Park, hosted by our very own Frederick Van Johnson from This Week In Photo (TWiP) on June 2nd at 5:30- 6:30 PM ET. Raise a glass with fellow photographers and enjoy an inspirational evening filled with engaging conversations, networking opportunities, and the chance to learn from one another.
Photowalk across the Brooklyn Bridge
On June 8th and 9th, join the Flickr team and revel in the beauty of New York City with a photowalk across the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. Starting from The Seaport exhibits and finishing at the Photo Village in Brooklyn Bridge Park, this photowalk promises stunning views, creative inspiration, and the chance to connect with fellow photographers. And there’s a special bonus: pro photographers Emily Teague, Brandi Nicole, and Anya Anti will be tagging along and sharing their wisdom with us!
Your Best Shot exhibition
Come see our stunning gallery exhibit, showcasing Flickr’s Your Best Shot contest winners from 2023. For two decades, Flickr has served as a platform for photographers to share their talent and passion, and there’s no better way to celebrate this milestone than by showcasing some of the remarkable images that have captured our hearts and minds from our beloved members. Don’t miss it!
