NEW & IMPROVED photo pages released!

In Ye Olde Flickr Tymes, there was a view of people’s photostreams we called The Surf View. It showed the viewer photos that were posted around the same time as the photo you were looking at. Now, when you go to a photo page, you’ll see that we’ve released a new version of the Surf View, in beefcake mode. This new view shows you all the Sets and Group Pools that a photo belongs to, as well as the context of the photo in the owner’s photostream.

Here’s an example photo:

Fancy pants

In the context view on the right, you can see that this photo belongs to my Photostream, and 3 of my photosets.

A few other changes include:

  • Adding a photo count for each context, as well as a link straight to the slideshow (if there are more than 2 photos)
  • Removing the “All Sizes” button, and replacing it with a link under the photo title labelled “View larger version”
  • Collection all the photo “stats” together: privacy level, when it was posted, number of faves, and the number of views

We hope you like it!
