In Catalonia, Spain, the River Noguera Ribagorçana passes through the Serra del Montsec mountain system, creating a beautiful hiking destination called Congost de Mont-Rebei. The gorge features 1640-foot walls of limestone with embedded pathways for visitors to take in the gorgeous scenic views.

The perennial family of plants called Polemoniaceae — mostly known by the vibrantly pink flowers of the moss phlox species — bloom in dazzling fashion during the spring in Japan.
